Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

You provide this to us directly when you use the service:

• Account information: your name, email address, and password.
• Filing information: your corporation's name and entity number, officer and director names and addresses, registered agent details, business addresses, and the disclosures the Statement of Information requires.
• Supporting documents you choose to upload with a filing.
• Messages you send us through the contact page or by email.

We don't collect payment card details ourselves — those are entered directly into Stripe's embedded checkout and go to Stripe, not to us.

2. How we use it

• To prepare and file your Statement of Information.
• To send confirmation, status, and reminder emails about your filing.
• To operate your account, including sign-in and password reset.
• To respond when you contact us.
• To detect and prevent abuse of the service.

We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising.

3. Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers that make FileBizOnline work, each bound to use it solely to provide their service to us:

• Stripe — processes payment. We receive confirmation that payment succeeded, not your card details.
• Supabase — hosts our database, authentication, and private document storage.
• Resend — delivers transactional email (confirmations, reminders, account setup links).
• Upstash — supports rate limiting to protect the service from abuse.

We also share the information a filing requires with the California Secretary of State, because filing it there is the service you asked us to perform.

4. How it's protected

Filing and account data is protected by row-level security policies in our database, so access is restricted at the data layer, not just by application logic. Uploaded documents are stored in a private bucket and served only through short-lived signed links. See our Trust & Security page for more detail.

5. Cookies

We use only the cookies necessary to keep you signed in and to maintain your session. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

6. Data retention

We retain your filing and account information for as long as your account is active, and afterward for as long as needed to meet recordkeeping and legal obligations. You can request deletion of your account by contacting us, subject to any records we're required to retain.

7. Your choices

You can review and update most account information directly from your dashboard. To request a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion, email us at hello@filebizonline.com.

8. Children's privacy

FileBizOnline is a business service and isn't directed to, or knowingly used by, children under 18.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
