Statement of Information due dates, explained

When your filing window opens, how it's tied to your registration date, and why 'due once a year' isn't the whole story.

California corporations file a Statement of Information every year, during a filing period tied to the month the corporation originally registered with the Secretary of State. Your filing window is generally the calendar month your corporation was formed, plus the five months before it — so the exact date shifts company to company.

Where to find your exact date

The Secretary of State's bizfile portal will show your corporation's specific filing period based on your entity number. It's worth checking directly rather than assuming — filing periods and specific rules are set and updated by the state, not by us.

A reminder doesn't replace checking

If you've filed with FileBizOnline before, we'll email a reminder ahead of your next filing window with your entity details already on file. That's a convenience, not a substitute for confirming your due date with the state if you're ever unsure.
